SC suspends LHC’s judgment regarding formulation of election tribunal

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday suspended the judgment of the Lahore High Court (LHC) regarding formulation of the election tribunal.

The court also suspended the ECP notification issued for the establishment of the election tribunal.

However, the SC left the matter to consultation between the LHC chief justice and the ECP. In the written order, the court ruled that the matter would remain sub judice in the SC.

“The ECP and LHC chief justice are constitutional office-bearers. The ECP should resolve the issue after consultation soon after the completion of the appointment of the chief justice. The country will destroy if the constitutional institutes will clash with each other,” it ruled.
