SC verdict ends lifetime disqualification of Nawaz Sharif, Jahangir Tareen

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - After the verdict of the SC, the lifetime disqualification of PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif and IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Tareen also ended.

Now both leaders will be able to contest the general elections. The verdict has also abolished the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif in the Iqama case.

Reacting to the verdict, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the SC verdict had upheld the supremacy of the law and the constitution. "We are hearing the success of Nawaz Sharif from everywhere. Those who announced the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif are in the grip of Allah Almighty," she added.

IPP president Aleem Khan welcomed the SC judgment abolishing the lifetime disqualification.
