Security guard martyred, two terrorists killed in suicide attack and firing in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) - A security guard was martyred while two terrorists were killed in a suicide attack and firing in Karachi's Mansehra Colony on Friday.

Two people were also injured in the attack. According to the police, all foreigners remained unhurt in the attack. A terrorist was killed in the blast while another was killed in the encounter with the police after the attack.

A bag containing bullets and a hand grenade was also found from the site. The terrorists used a black motorcycle in the attack.

CTD In-charge Raja Umar Khattab said that the suicide attack might have been carried out by a separatist organization. "Further investigations are underway," he added.

The East Zone DIG said that it seemed two terrorists had carried out the attack. He said that the terrorists would be identified through finger prints.

Meanwhile, President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and several political figures have strongly condemned the attack. The President said that timely action by police saved the people from a big loss. "The nation will jointly fight against terrorism," he added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that they would sit peacefully until elimination of terrorism.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that anti-country elements wanted to disrupt peace in the country, which would not be allowed at any cost. He also sought a report from the Sindh IGP.
