Seven senators elected unopposed from Punjab

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Seven senators were elected unopposed from Punjab on Wednesday.

The elected senators are: PML-N's Pervaiz Rasheed, Nasir Mahmood, Ahad Cheema, Talal Chaudhary, ruling alliance-backed Mohsin Naqvi and Sunni Ittehad Council's (SIC) Raja Nasir Abbas and Hamid Khan.

On the other hand, a new history is going to be written in Balochistan where matters have been settled to get all senators elected unopposed. As per talks, the PPP and the PML-N will get three seats each while the JUI-F will be given two seats.

The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), the National Party and Awami National Party (ANP) will get one seat each.

In Sindh, the MQM has given the ticket to Amir Chishti besides backing independent candidate Faisal Vawda. On the other hand, Rauf Siddiqui and Najeeb Haroon have withdrawn from the election.
