LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab IGP Usman Anwar said that the police had foiled an attempt by the terrorists to enter the province from Dera Ghazi Khan.

In a video message on Wednesday, the IGP said that terrorists had attacked a border post at Jhangi, DG Khan late night and police jawans responded with heavy firing and forced them to flee. "Terrorists will not be allowed to enter Punjab at any costs," he declared.

He said that about 8-10 terrorists had tried to enter Punjab in darkness, but the police jawans traced them with the help of thermal image cameras. "The timely action thwarted the attempt of terrorists and forced them to flee. A team led by the Vohwa SHO also reached the spot for the back-up," he added.

He said that the morale of the police jawans was high. "The police is ready to eliminate the terrorists," he added.
