Nine killed as two buildings collapse due to gas leakage blast in Multan

MULTAN (92 News) – Nine people were killed when two buildings collapsed in a blast due to leakage of gas in Mohallah Haram Gate on Tuesday.
According to the preliminary report, the blast occurred due to leakage of gas in the upper storey of a house. As a result, two people died. The debris of the house fell on a nearby house, killing seven people on the spot.
The rescue operation has been completed. The district administration has sealed the affected building. On the order of the Multan deputy commissioner, a technical team has been constituted to inspect the nearby buildings.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Maryam Nawaz has expressed grief over the loss of precious lives and sought a report from the Multan commissioner.
In Rawalpindi, two children were killed while eight other injured in three incidents of gas leakage blasts. In the first incident, two children died while a woman was injured in a blast due to leakage of gas in Bahbara Bazaar area.
In Tainch area, two people were injured in a blast due to leakage of gas. In Waris Khan area, five people received severe burns in a blast due to leakage of gas.
