UN made a new appeal for aid to the flood victims of Pakistan

NEW YORK (92 News) - The United Nations has made a new appeal for aid to Pakistan's flood victims.
According to UNICEF, about 3.4 million flood-affected children are awaiting immediate assistance. Children caught in the floods are suffering from stomach ailments along with malaria and dengue. Mothers of flood-affected infants are malnourished and unable to breastfeed.
The World Health Organization has also warned that after the flood, there is a risk of another disaster in the form of diseases and deaths in Pakistan. Director WHO Dr. Tedros says that the World Health Organization will make a new appeal for help to Pakistan after the aid of 10 million dollars.
On the other hand, the demand for assistance to the Pakistani flood victims started gaining strength in the US as well. American Senator Bob Menendez says that there was a large-scale destruction due to floods in Pakistan. Aid given to Pakistan for flood victims is not more than a drop. Three crore people have lost their homes in Pakistan. Pakistan should get a relief package from the IMF.
Sheila Jackson also appealed for immediate assistance to the flood victims. In a briefing to the US House of Representatives, Sheila Jackson said that water in Pakistan is limited to water, which may take six months to drain. Diseases spread rapidly in flooded areas.
