Weather turns chilly after light rain in parts of country
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Weather turned cold after light rain in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar including other parts of the country on Thursday.
According to the reports, temperatures have dropped across the country after a new wave of rain hit several areas in the early hours. However, light rain continued in different parts of the country including Lahore and weather turned into cold across all the cities.
It rained in several areas in Karachi, with some areas being lashed by the rain while others received light showers. It rained in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Safoora, Airport, Orangi Town, MA Jinnah Road, II Chundrigar Road, Tower, Scheme 33, Malir, Nazimabad and North Nazimabad.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast rain in Karachi for another 24 hours. The PMD also predicted that in Lahore, the rainfall was light but it was coupled with strong winds. This is expected to continue for another two days.
On the other hand, the PMD also forecasted the new wave of rains in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkwa and the rain likely to be stopped after 24 hours.
New spell of snowfall started in Muree, other northern areas
After the break of five days, the spell of snowfall has been started in the Muree. Minimum temperature of some major cities recorded this morning. Lowest temperature recorded in Galyat as -22 centigrade.
Hilly areas including Gilgit-Baltistan, Astore, Skardu, Ghizer received the snowfall of the current winter season, taking the temperature below freezing point.
The Met Office has predicted rain with snowfall in different areas of the country. Intermittent snowfall continues on hilly areas of country including Murree, Galiyat, Abbottabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and adjoining areas, dropping down the mercury considerably.
Roads from Leepa Valley to Hattian Bala and Kel to Hilmat of Neelum Valley are closed from 10 days due to which the problems of citizens increased.
