LAHORE (92 News) – Former opposition Leader and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) senior leader Khursheed Shah on Friday predicted that Punjab senior minister Aleem Khan will be granted bail soon. Speaking to the journalists in Lahore, the PPP leader mentioned that the reports are being surfaced as Aleem Khan’s arrest is a balancing act. He also claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader’s arrest is just a deception, not reality. Khursheed Shah does not see justice being served in this case. He also denied the reports for seeking National Reconciliations Ordinance (NRO), adding that if anyone asked about NRO then should reveal the name of person. Responding to the demand of PTI-led government, the former opposition leader termed that if Shehbaz Sharif should resign due to involvement of National Accountability Bureau’s case then Prime Minister Imran Khan should have to quit his designation. Khursheed Shah also announced to raise voice against the mini-budget in the National Assembly. To a question about relations with neighbor countries, he said Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan.
Aleem Khan fails to satisfy investigators on offshore companies
A day earlier, the NAB initial investigation report stated that Punjab senior minister Aleem Khan could not satisfy on offshore companies. 92 News obtained the initial investigation report. The report revealed that the assets owned by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader had revealed that he held 35 different companies, but he couldn’t satisfy investigators when asked about his firms. The preliminary report stated that Aleem Khan was currently facing probe on 12 companies he owns. The report, presented in an accountability court in Lahore, reveals that Aleem Khan owns 35 companies in total, which were formed between 2003 and 2013. Reportedly, he couldn’t satisfy probe officers regarding Rs 1 billion he acquired through his firms. The report further said Aleem Khan bought 900-kanal land for Rs. 600mn, and he couldn’t give satisfactory response to the NAB regarding the said amount. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has discovered that offshore properties owned by Khan in Dubai have a value of 30mn dirhams.
Earlier today, Accountability Court Judge Najamul Hassan remanded PTI leader Aleem Khan in the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for nine days. On Wednesday, Punjab Senior Minister Aleem Khan resigned after being arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the offshore companies and assets beyond income case. Aleem Khan had appeared before the NAB fourth time in the case. The NAB is investigating Aleem Khan for his involvement in the offshore company and assets beyond income cases. It had demanded the details about his offshore companies and properties abroad.
