PESHAWAR (92 News) – Ali Amin Gandapur of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has been elected as the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He bagged 90 votes while his rival Ibadullah of the PML-N got 19 votes.

Addressing the House after being elected as the CM, Ali Amin Gandapur said that their leaders had struggled for the nation for 27 years, but historic cruelty was unleashed against their party. "We do not want revenge. This country and institutions are ours. Today we faced cruelty and you will have to face it tomorrow," he added.

The KP chief minister demanded that the chief election commissioner should resign for alleged rigging in the elections. "The chief justice should form a judicial commission to probe into the rigging and provide justice to the victims," he demanded.

He asked the police to quash all baseless FIRs. "An open and transparent trial of the PTI founder should be conducted. Women should be provided justice," he added. He assured to eliminate terrorism and establish peace in the province.

He said that he was grieved over being elected the chief minister as an independent candidate. "We will expose the mandate which was stolen. Ignore the level-playing field, we were deprived of the election symbol of 'bat'," he added.
