ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The government dropped another bombshell on the inflation-stricken people by increasing the power tariff by Rs 3.25 per unit.

The increase will put an extra burden of Rs 46 billion on the consumers.

According to sources in the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the increase has been made under the head of three-month fuel price adjustment. The increase will be applicable for June, July and August.

On the other hand, the government has reduced the petrol rate by Rs4.74 contrary to expected decrease by Rs 15 per litre.

A statement issued by the PM Office had announced a decrease by Rs15.40 per litre as the crude oil rate in the international market has decreased by US$2.

People have appealed to the government to give more relief on the petrol price by reducing the daily-use items.
