Ch Shujaat will remain PML-Q president, rules ECP

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared that Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain will remain the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).

Moreover, the ECP nullified the amendment made to the constitution of the PML-Q. "The constitutional amendment despite the stay order of the ECP," it ruled.

The court also dismissed the plea of Chaudhary Wajahat Hussain for teh amendment to the party constitution.

On January 25, Chaudhary Wajahat Hussain had made the amendment to the party constitution. Under the amendment, the tenure of the party president was reduced to two years.

Chaudhary Wajahat Hussain had held the intra-party elections after the constitutional amendment.
