KARACHI (92 News) - Chup Tazia, which is regarded as the last of Muharram processions, caused significant traffic jams and road closures in the financial hub of the country.

Karachi traffic police issued a diversion plan as the city hosts two Chup Tazia processions to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hassan Askari (RH).

The first Chup Tazia procession was taken out from Nishtar Park at 6:30 am, and it concluded at Noor Bagh in Moosa Lane at around 11 am after passing through MA Jinnah Road, Capri, and Saddar Dawakhana.

The second Chup Tazia procession was taken out from Rizvia Society at 1 pm, and it was heading towards Imam Bargah Shah-E-Najaf on Martin Road till the filing of the report.

Several roads were closed, and alternate routes were designated to ensure foolproof security and smooth flow of traffic.

Stringent safety measures are ensured to provide foolproof security to Both processions, which are held annually on the 8th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, are accompanied by tight security arrangements, with streets around the routes being closed to all traffic.
