CJP expresses anger over Islamabad IG in journalists harassment case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa expressed his indignation over the Islamabad IG for his failure to trace the culprits in the journalists harassment case.

Hearing the case on Monday, the CJP questioned that as why he could not trace the culprits despite the recording of the crime. "Why have you come here? Have you come to show your face only? You start saying 'my lord, my lord' in each case. We will fine you if you uttered 'my lord' again," he remarked.

During the hearing, the Islamabad IG could not respond to the queries.

Addressing the attorney general, the CJP observed that what type of IG he was and he should be removed. "Four years have passed. Do you need four centuries to trace the culprits?" he remarked.

The court rejected the reports of the FIA and the police and issued contempt of court warning to the FIA. "The FIA and the police should be closed down if they do not know how to conduct the investigations," the CJP remarked.

He ruled that the entire system would be rectified if an action was taken against the big officer.

Later, the case was adjourned until March 25.
