CM Maryam Nawaz inaugurates hybrid double-decker buses in Punjab

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday inaugurated five new hybrid double-decker buses to promote tourism in Punjab.

The Punjab chief minister inspected the buses and also traveled in them. On the occasion, she was briefed that the double-decker bus service was first launched under the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) in November 2015 during the tenure of the then-chief minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Maryam Nawaz was also informed that the route of three new tourist buses in Lahore will be from Gaddafi Stadium to various tourist places.

On the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that more new, modern, and eco-friendly buses would be provided for metropolitan tourism across Punjab.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid, senior minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information and Culture Minister Zahid Bukhari, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Rashid Nasrullah, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, and others were present on the occasion.

According to official sources, five new hybrid double-decker buses will be operated on new routes to promote tourism in Lahore. One double-decker bus will be operated in Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi each.

Moreover, the double-decker bus service will also be started in Multan and Faisalabad to promote tourism.

These buses will carry academia, diplomats, state guests, corporate and showbiz personalities, and the general public to sightseeing posts.
