COAS commends forces’ morale, preparedness to fight terrorism

PESHAWAR (92 News) - Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir Friday visited Orakzai district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) where he met the troops conducting anti-terror operations in the Tirah Valley and appreciated their high morale and preparedness.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS was briefed on overall security, ongoing intelligence-based operations (IBOs) and measures for lasting peace in the area.

COAS praised the cooperation of local population in the fight against terrorism, stating that the positive role of the local population was indispensable for sustainable peace.

The army chief also praised the cooperation of KP police and other law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism.

He reaffirmed the resolve to bring peace and prosperity to the region, vowing that the peace achieved by the great sacrifices of the nation would be maintained at all costs.

COAS also visited the martyrs’ memorial in Orakzai district. He laid wreaths there and paid glowing tributes to martyrs and veterans.

“The sacrifices of the martyrs strengthen our resolve to fight with utmost dedication and passion,” he declared.
