COAS, Saudi assistance defence minister discuss issues of mutual interest
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Saudi Arabia Assistance Minister for Defence Muhammad Bin Abdullah Al-Ayesh called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Tuesday(today).
According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), both the leaders exchanged views on issues of mutual interest including defence and security cooperation between both the countries.
During the meeting, they also discussed the overall regional security situation.
Outgoing Colonel of NLI Regiment Lieutenant General (Retd) Ikramul Haq, Commander Rawalpindi Corps Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar, a large number of serving and retired officers and soldiers attended the ceremony.
Upon his arrival, the COAS laid a floral wreath at martyrs’ monument.
The COAS appreciated the contributions and sacrifices of NLI Regiment for the defence of motherland.
NLI Regiment is one of the most decorated Regiments of Pakistan Army with numerous gallantry awards including two Nishan-i-Haider.
COAS installs Lt Gen Anwar as Colonel Commandant of NLI Regiment
Earlier on Friday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited NLI (Northern Light Infantry) Regimental Centre, Bunji.
According to a press release issued by the ISPR, COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa installed Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder as Colonel Commandant of NLI Regiment.
