Country has ample quantity of sugar, says PSMA chairman Sikandar Khan

LAHORE (92 News) - Pakistan Sugar Mills Association chairman Sikandar Khan has said that the country has an ample quantity of sugar.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that the country has currently a stock of 2.6 million tons of sugar, which is sufficient for domestic needs till December.

He said that there will be no question for an increase in the sugar price with the start of the crushing season.

Sikandar Khan said that the impression of a shortage of sugar in the country. "The increase in the sugar price is the result of an increase in the dollar price and smuggling," he added.
