Court frames charges against PTI founder and wife in £190 million case, both plead not guilty

RAWALPINDI (92 News) - Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana indicted the PTI founer and his wife Bushra Bibi in the £190 million case on Tuesday.

However, both accused pleaded not guilty.

The hearing was conducted in the Adiala jail. Bushra Bibi was presented in court after being shifted to Adiala jail. The judge read out the indictment in the presence of both accused in the courtroom.

Later, the court summoned five witnesses on the next date of hearing on March 6.

According to the reference, Shahzad Akbar wrote a misleading note on December 2, 2019, showing the SC Registrar Account as the State of Pakistan Account. It states that the PTI chairman was fully aware of the plan as he had received 458 kanal of land from Malik Riaz.

The Al-Qadir University did not exist when the land was taken. After giving benefit to Malik Riaz, the PTI chairman became the lone beneficiary of £171 million, out of £190 million. In 2019, the land purchased by Malik Riaz was transferred to Zulfi Bukhari, added the reference.
