Development budget for new FY2022-23 will be Rs800 billion: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that the development budget for the new FY2022-23 will be Rs800 billion.

Talking to the media on Saturday, he said that the government's priority will be the projects about the water reservoirs and steps to remove backwardness of Balochistan.

He also announced to start the merit-based laptop scheme for students.

The minister said that special attention will be paid to the IT industry and the e-government project.

"An amount of Rs100 billion will be received through the public-private partnership. 250 technical projects will be started and cooperation of the provincial governments will be sought in this regard," he maintained.

He said that the government will complete unfinished projects of CPEC in Balochistan.

"Special attention is being paid to complete dams on time. A budget is being allocated to resolve the water and electricity problems in Gwadar," he declared.
