Ex-CDA member Brigadier (r) Asad Munir allegedly commits suicide
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Defence analyst Brigadier (r) Asad Munir, former Member State Capital Development Authority (CDA), has allegedly committed suicide on Friday.
According to the police, the defence analyst’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his flat in Diplomatic Enclave. The police said that the former intelligence officer allegedly commit suicide yesterday night with hanging to death from fan.
The police shifted the body of Asad Munir to PIMS hospital for post-mortem. The Islamabad commissioner accepted the plea of defence analyst’s family for not conducting postmortem examination of the body.
It was reported that the body was handed over to his son Amaldar Munir after legal formalities. The police sources said that there is no cause of committing suicide ascertained till now.

Khalid Munir, elder brother of Brig Munir, tweeted that his brother has passed away and the funeral will be offered at 5pm at H-8 Grave Yard on Friday. He did not disclose the cause of death.
The deceased was residing in an apartment at the Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad. He was a former intelligence operative with extensive experience of working in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the tribal areas.
At one point, he was the incharge of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) in Peshawar. Following his retirement from the military, he had also worked as a defence analyst.
A day earlier, NAB's executive board had approved the launch of two fresh inquiries and three references, one of which was against Munir.
PPP co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari offered his condolences to the deceased's family.
