Flour mills observe strike against withholding tax, hefty power bills

KARACHI (92 News) - Flour mills continued their strike against hefty power bills and withholding tax in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.

The mill owners have stopped the supply to press for their demands. The talks between the flour mill owners and the government failed to produce any result.

The flour mill owners said that it was government’s duty to collect the withholding tax, not theirs. “After the imposition of the tax, the price of a flour bag will increase to Rs200,” they added.
