IHC declares Sanam Javed’s arrest illegal, disposes of plea for her release

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Justice Miangul Hassan of the Islamabad High Court on Thursday declared the arrest of PTI leader Saman Javed as illegal and disposed of the application filed for her release.

The attorney general told court the Balochistan police were not seeking her transit remand and her arrest was not wanted in any case. He said that she can go to any place where she wants to go. 

The judge remarked that he had seen on the internet that Saman Javed was in habit of using inappropriate words. At this, her counsel assured the court that she would not use inappropriate words in the future.

On Monday, the IHC had stopped the police from arresting Sanam Javed until Thursday. The order was passed on the application of Sanam Javed’s father. The court sought the record of all cases against her, stopping her from leaving Islamabad.

Justice Miangul Hassan asked Sanam Javed to go home and remain silent.
