IHC stops caretaker govt from FBR's restructuring

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday stopped the caretaker government from making restructuring of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Hearing a petition filed by an FBR officer, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb suspended the notification issued by the restructuring committee.

The petitioner contended that it was not mandate of the caretaker government to restructure the FBR. "The ECP had stopped the caretaker government from the restructuring of the FBR under the Election Act 2017, but it formed the committee for the purpose," he stated.
