ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Interior Ministry on Monday started investigations into the hacking of important data of the Prime Minister's House.

The federal government has formed a joint investigation team (JIT) for the investigation, which will include representatives of sensitive agencies. The JIT will also probe the officials posted in the PM's House and Secretariat for the past six months.

The JIT will be authorized to investigate the staff of the PM's House. There will also be an investigation on whether the devices were installed in the PM's House or the recording was done from a mobile phone. The investigation team will examine which officer was present in the PM's House at the time of the incident, as mobile phones were not allowed there.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) regarding the audio leak issue. Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and heads of intelligence agencies will participate in the meeting.

The committee members, including federal ministers, will also participate in the meeting, which will be informed about the investigation into the audio leak so far.

Meanwhile, the movement of security personnel in the Prime Minister's House and PM Office has also been restricted.
