LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday ordered to remove the name of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif from the exit control list (ECL).

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif had challenged the placement of his name on the exit control list (ECL) in the Lahore High Court (LHC).

It is pertinent to mention here that the Interior Ministry issued a notification regarding a foreign travel ban on the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) president.

Shehbaz Sharif’s name placed on ECL

The Interior Ministry had nnounced to place the name of Shehbaz Sharif on the ECL. The federal cabinet had decided to place the name of Shehbaz Sharif on the ECL.

The LHC had granted bail to Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiyana Housing Scheme and Ramazan Sugar Mills cases. The two-member bench headed by Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed announced the reserved verdict.

The court rejected the bail plea of Fawad Hassan Fawad in assets beyond known sources of income case. However, he was granted bail in the Ashiyana Housing scandal.

The court remarked that Shehbaz Sharif is not the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ramazan Sugar Mills.

LHC ordered to release Shehbaz Sharif

On February 15, the LHC ordered to release Shehbaz Sharif. The court said in its remarks that the NAB had failed to prove the allegations leveled against the PMLN president. Shehbaz Sharif never remained the chief executive of Ramzan Sugar Mills, LHC remarked.

Shehbaz Sharif said the truth prevailed once again and thanked God. We are appearing before courts and will continue to do so, he vowed. He once again claimed to leave politics if corruption is proved against him.

The PMLN president added that he had already said the cases are based on lies, and demanded that accountability of all should be held.
