NAB launches inquiry against Pervaiz Khattak, Mushtaq Ghani & Amjad Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched an inquiry against Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani and former chief secretary Amjad Ali Khan. They face the charge of making an illegal appointment of the Pak-Austria Institute project director in Haripur. They are likely to be summoned in the inquiry soon. Sources said that the University of Haripur Vice-Chancellor Dr Nasir Ali Khan was given the additional charge of Pak-Austria Institute project director and later he was appointed to the position on regular basis, violating the rules and regulations. All the said people had not adopted the prescribed procedure for the appointment. Sources in the NAB said that then secretary establishment had opposed the appointment procedure. “Then Higher Education secretary had demanded the fund amounting to Rs three million for the establishment of the institution,” he said. They added that Pervaiz Khattak, Mushtaq Ghani and Amjad Ali Khan are likely to be summoned for the inquiry shortly.
