Newly-elected members take oath in Sindh Assembly

KARACHI (92 News) - The newly-elected members of the Sindh Assembly took the oath on Saturday.

Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani administered the oath to the newly-elected representatives of the people. The members took the oath in Sindh, Urdu and English languages as per their choice.

The schedule for the election of the new speaker and deputy speaker will be announced shortly. The victory notification of 163 members, out of total 168, has already been announced.

The MPAs belonging to the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), the Jamaat-e-Islami and other independent candidates had announced not to take the oath in protest. PPP MPAs Jam Mehtab Dehar and Nisar Khoro also did not take the oath. They will take the oath after casting their vote in favour of Asif Zardari in the presidential elections as senators.
