One transgender killed, two injured in Kohat firing incident

KOHAT (92 News) – The unidentified armed persons opened fire on the vehicle of transgender which resulting on killed and two injured in Jatta Ismail Khel, ditrict Kohat. According to the reports, at least one transgender person was killed and two others critically injured in the firing by unidentified persons. The injured were shifted to the Kohat District Hospital. It was reported that transgender persons were returning to Peshawar after attending a musical event in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak district when their vehicle came under attack.
Transgender killed in Swabi firing incident
Earlier, a transgender was killed when some unidentified armed assailants opened firing in Swabi’s Sheva Adda area. Some unidentified armed men opened firing in Swabi’s Sheva Adda and killed a transgender namely Khanullah alias Sheenu. The accused managed to flee the crime scene. According to police, search operation was launched in the area for the arrest of the accused. Police took the body of the eunuchs in custody and shifted to local hospital for post mortem. The transgenders demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
CJP constitutes committee to resolve transgenders issues
The SC has ordered NADRA to complete CNIC issuance for transgenders within fifteen days. A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar hearing the suo-motu case regarding transgenders problems for getting their CNIC cards at Lahore Registry of Supreme Court today also constituted a committee to submit recommendations regarding this issue. The chief justice also ordered for issuance passports and driving licenses to transgenders as early as possible. Mian Saqib Nisar said transgenders cases will be heard on daily basis and special courts will be established to protect their rights.
