Over 50,000 tourists visit Skardu airport this year

SKARDU (92 News) – As many as 50,000 tourists visited Skardu airport for recreation, proving that steps taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan for the promotion of tourism have started yielding results. The beauty of the tourist resort having mountains, lakes and dense forest lures the tourists. Keeping in view the rush, Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered to extend the Skardu and Chitral airports. The Civil Aviation Authority has issued tenders for the extension of both airports. Flights are likely to increase at Skardu airport after the extension project. Skardu – a beautiful valley of Baltistan – is located at an altitude of 7316 ft with an average temperature of 26 degree Celsius. Skardu is famous for its scenic natural beauty, fresh water springs, delicious fruits and pleasant weather. Skardu airport is located 11miles from the city.
