ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has congratulated his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on his party's electoral victory in Lok Sabha elections. This was stated by Foreign office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal in a tweet today. He said Prime Minister expressed his desire for both countries to work together for betterment of their peoples. “PM spoke to PM Modi today and congratulated him on his party’s electoral victory in Lok Sabha elections in India. PM expressed his desire for both countries to work together for betterment of their peoples,” the FO spokesperson tweeted.   In another tweet, Dr Mohammad Faisal said, Imran Khan reiterating his vision for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia said that he looks forward to work with Prime Minister Modi to advance these objectives.

On May 23, Imran Khan has congratulated his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on the electoral victory of his party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and allies. In a tweet, Imran Khan said he looks forward to working with Narendra Modi for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia. “I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of BJP and allies. Look forward to working with him for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia,” he tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has swept to a huge election victory, his foreign minister said on Thursday, giving his party a mandate to pursue policies that put Hindus first, are mainly business-friendly and take a hard line on national security.

Official data from the Election Commission showed Modi’s Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led alliance is ahead with 349 of the 542 seats available, more than the 272 seats needed for a majority in the Lok Sabha.
