PM Shehbaz Sharif nominated as acting PML-N president

LAHORE (92 News) - The PML-N Central Working Committee on Saturday nominated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as party president.

The party also established an election commission, appointing Rana Sanaullah as the chief election commissioner.

A meeting of the PML-N General Council will be held on May 28. PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif will be elected as the party president. PML-N leaders, including Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, also attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that he was entrusted the party presidentship as a result of cruelty against Nawaz Sharif. "I am thankful to the party for entrusting me with the presidentship. I am returning this slot to Nawaz Sharif," he added.

He said that the party salutes the colleagues who did not quit the party in difficult times. "History will not forget the bold decisions taken by Nawaz Sharif," he added.

The PM said that Nawaz Sharif faced each difficulty, but did not utter a single word against Pakistan.
