KARACHI (92 News) – President Arif Alvi on Saturday visited the family of 10-year-old Amal Umer who died on August 13 after being hit by a bullet during a police encounter in Karachi’s Akhtar Colony area. Alvi offered condolences to Amal’s parents and asked them about details of the incident. Amal’s father Umer said they were on their way from Korangi Road to FTC when an armed man approached them at a traffic signal and asked him to hand over his possessions. After the shots rang out, said Umer, he and his wife, Beenish, checked up on their two daughters riding in the backseat of the car. He said he found Amal lying in a pool of blood and his other daughter clutching the driver’s seat. The President ordered the departments concerned to complete the investigations at the earliest.
