Punjab Cabinet approves supplementary budget of Rs4,480 billion

LAHORE (92 News) - The Punjab Cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the supplementary budget of Rs4,480 billion.

Earlier, the budget was approved by the Punjab Assembly amid uproar by the opposition members. As per allocations, an amount of Rs473.6 billion has been allocated for health, Rs596 billion for education, Rs382 billion for constructions and Rs127.7 billion for the local government sector.

A sum of Rs30 billion has been earmarked for the Ramazan package. Meanwhile, Rs25.6 has been reserved for a subsidy on agriculture, Rs11 billion for free books, Rs12.5 billion for Central Business District, Rs10 billion for PKLI Endowment Fund, Rs11.4 billion for Healthcare Extended Programme and Rs264 billion to repay the debt.
