ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to withdraw the notices against journalists.

The court stopped the federal agency from action against the journalists summoned by it.

Hearing the suo motu notice, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked that the abusive language is a different matter. "The action should not be taken against journalists if the matter is limited to criticism," he observed.

The attorney general assured the court that no action would be taken against the summoned journalists.

The chief justice remarked that for how long they would continue to repeat the mistakes. "We are ready to admit our mistakes, but will not take responsibility of the mistakes committed by others. Criticism will correct me if I committed a mistake. I do not care if someone makes fun of me," he added.

The hearing of the suo motu notice was adjourned until Tuesday (tomorrow).
