Senate rejects bill regarding public hanging for rape convicts

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Senate rejected the bill seeking public hanging for the rape convicts.

Twenty-four lawmakers voted against the legislation, while 14 members supported the bill. Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani presided over the session.

During the session, the opposition members carrying posters besieged the dais. They chanted the slogans 'Election Chor Na Manzoor'. They demanded that a discussion should be held on the elections.

The opposition lawmakers included the JUI-F, the PTI and other parties.
