Smog emergency enforced in Punjab, masks made mandatory in schools

LAHORE (92 News) - The Punjab government has enforced the smog emergency across Punjab for one month, making it mandatory for students to wear masks in schools.

Addressing a meeting on Wednesday, Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi urged the people to wear masks. "The LHC has ordered to declare the smog emergency immediately," he said.

The CM said that the factories emitting black smog should not be de-sealed.

He said that students should be imparted awareness about smog in schools. He directed the provincial ministers to visit public and private schools from tomorrow.

Mohsin Naqvi said that action would be taken against those sprinkling mud, sand and debris during the construction of houses. He asked farmers not to burn crop residue and dispose of it properly.
