Temperature subsides as westerly wave enters upper parts of country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Heatwave subsided after westerly wave entered the upper parts of country on Friday.
Murree received a light rain.
Earlier, the Met Office had informed that a westerly wave is likely to enter upper parts of the country on May 19, Thursday(night) and is likely to persist till May 24 (Tuesday), due to which rain-dust-thunderstorm is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Kohat, Waziristan, Bannu, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum , Hafizabad, M. B Din, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, TT Singh, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (Astore, Ghizer, Gilgit, Diamir, Hunza and Skardu) particularly during afternoon and evening /nights.
Possible Impacts:
- Relief is expected in the present heatwave conditions in most parts of the country.
- Water stress on water (reservoirs), crops, vegetable and orchards may likely to continue.
- Wind/dust-thunderstorm may cause damages to vulnerable structures in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad/upper Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir during the forecast period.
