Two killed as heavy rain, snowfall and avalanche hit upper areas

SWAT (92 News) - Two people were killed as heavy rain and avalanches wreaked havoc in Upper areas of the country, including Swat and Dir.
The casualties were reported due to roof collapse in Swat and Dir. In Malam Jabba, electricity poles were uprooted. The power supply has been discontinued for the last 13 hours.
In Murree, roofs of houses and signboards were uprooted due to the rain. The power breakdown plunged the villages and cities into darkness. Tourists were restricted due to their rooms due bad weather.
Abbotabad-Murree Road was blocked due to heavy snowfall. A sheet of snow is visible in Galliyat, Nathia Gali, Changla Gali, Tahndiayani and Ayubia. Meanwhile, links roads were closed due to heavy snowfall in Band, Shagar and Ganchay as well as adjoining areas.
Heavy rain hit several areas in Balochistan, including Chaman, Muslim Bagh, Qila Abdullah, Kozak Top and adjoining areas. Low-lying areas were inundated due to the heavy rain.
Incessant rain was also reported in Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang and other areas. The rain emergency has been declared in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
