Three killed, 10 injured as rain, gusty winds lash Karachi
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Three people, including two girls, were killed and 10 others injured in different accidents during rain and gusty winds on Monday.
A youth died near the mausoleum of the Quaid-e-Azam when a tree fell on him.
In another incident, three children were injured when the roof of a school fell in Baloch Colony.
Several people were injured when the roof of a seminary collapsed in Lyari Chakiwara. A girl was killed in a wall-collapse incident.
Moreover, several areas were deprived of electricity due falling of a pole and breaking of a cable during the winds in the city. Several areas, including Defence, Clifton, North Nazimabad, received light rain.
According to the Met Office, a westerly wave is affecting parts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and this weather system is likely to intensify and grip most parts of the country on Monday.
Widespread dust-thunderstorm/rain(with few moderate to isolated heavy falls) accompanied by gusty winds is expected in Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Makran, Kalat ,Sibbi ,Naseerabad divisions.
Dust-Thunderstorm/rain is expected at isolated places in Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Malakand, Rawalpindi divisions and Kashmir.
