US national deported from Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday deported a US national woman, Sonia Sita Perez, for arriving in Islamabad airport without a visa. As per details garnered, the US woman reached the Islamabad airport via a Qatar Airlines flight but did not have a Pakistani visa. Upon checking her passport, the Immigration authorities deported Sonia Sita Perez to US on the same flight through which she reached Islamabad. It is pertinent to mention here that this is not the first time the US has been deported for entering the country without a visa. In 2016, US national Barrett, who landed in Pakistan from Turkey without a Pakistani visa, was deported from Lahore. Barrett was arrested in a joint raid by FIA and police officials at a guesthouse in the capital on Aug 6 after he returned to Pakistan despite being deported to the US in 2011. The 33-year-old Alabama native had spent four years in Pakistan, where he married a local woman and had two children, before being sent out of the country after being detained near a sensitive military installation. However, in order to check illegal stay without visa by the forefingers in Pakistan, it has been decided to charge “Over-Stay Surcharge” is under Ministry of Interior. Earlier on Jan 2017, President Donald Trump issued an executive order temporarily banning citizens of seven Muslim countries — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen — from entering the United States. Although Pakistan is not among these states, there is concern and fear that it may be included in the ban list when the Trump administration reviews the list after 90 days — the duration of the executive order.
