KARACHI (92 News) - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday vowed to introduce judicial reforms in the country, stating that the establishment of a federal constitutional court was a need of the hour.

While addressing a ceremony at the Sindh High Court Bar Association in Karachi, Bilawal said that a federal constitutional court, having representation from all provinces, was essential and a need of the hour.

The PPP chairman said that the current judicial system magnified 15 percent constitutional cases to 90 percent, adding that constitutional reforms were not a new thing.

“We will bring judicial reforms. Legislation and amending the Constitution cannot be done through courts,” he declared.

“The institution that was supposed to do justice in fact did the opposite and ordered the hanging of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on the orders of a military dictator,” he said while referring to the Supreme Court (SC).

He said that judges, no doubt, always allowed dictators to violate the Constitution.

He added that the Supreme Court had tried to snatch the power to amend the Constitution from the Parliament, but the power belonged to the Parliament.
